About

Department of Sanskrit is repository of invaluable knowledge of Ancient Indian Heritage and texts. Sanskrit texts, bridge the gap between the past and the future through the present. The department through its committed efforts achieved a pass percentage of 99% with highest mark of 99% by conducting Unit Tests, Quarterly Exams and Pre-final for the students. Besides academics the department also strives in conducting competitions in Quiz, Debates, Sloka Recitation and Sanskrit News reading by which subject confidence among students is promoted. Students are also encouraged to participate in Intercollegiate Competitions. Student’s class projects are also encouraged. Department is providing a library of 2500 Books. Students are motivated by means of CAMTASIA, and Power Point Presentations.

In our department, teaching is not only a profession but a passion. It has an outstanding academic track record of securing gold medals and university ranks from Osmania University. Each and every faculty member interacts well with students and motivates them to pursue higher education. Faculty members identify the learners’ needs through assessment tests and interaction. Steps are taken to explore the hidden talent and originality among students. The department encourages student projects, arranges guest lectures by eminent professors and scientists from national laboratories, and also organizes field trips on a regular basis.

Mrs. Indrakanti Vani Gayatri, Head, Department of Second sLanguages, received a Special Prize and Certificate of Appreciation from Chakravartula Radhakrishna Sahiti Vedika, Warangal, on August 1, 2025. She was honoured for her heartfelt letter featured in the anthology ‘Amma Ku Prematho’ (Bruhath Lekha Sankalanam), recognized for its literary merit in Telugu. The anthology was published as a chapter in the book by Karshak Art Printers, Hyderabad, under the editorship of Dr. Madatha Bhaskar, Warangal, Telangana.

Events

Anti-Drug Awareness Programme:

The Department of II Language organized a Poster and Slogan Writing Competition on the theme "Anti-Drug Awareness" on 24th and 25th June, 2026.

Sanskrit Day Celebration:

The Department of Sanskrit celebrated Sanskrit Day on 13th August 2025 in the college Auditorium. The programme starts with welcome dance by sharvani from II BSC , Vaishnavi from II BA ,Bhavana from I MSCS & Scripture reading of BHAGAWAD GITA,BIBLE & Quran. On this occasion, Dr. Kuppa Janardan Sarma was the chief guest and delivered an inspiring talk on the importance of Sanskrit Target audience II Year students.

The Department of Sanskrit conducted E-Poster making competition on SUNDARAKANDA at Inter Collegiate Level. Students participated enthusiastically, and certificates were awarded to the winners. Students will gain a deeper appreciation of the concept of “Sundaramanda”, highlighting its relevance in art, life, and culture.

The Department of Sanskrit has celebrated “Sanskrit Day” on 17.8.2024. Prof. S.Pardasaradhi , Department of Business Management, Dean in Reasearch, St Pious was invited as guest speaker. By celebrating Sanskrit Day, we aim to recognize the language's importance, promote its learning and appreciation, and preserve India's cultural heritage. Enhanced recognition of Sanskrit's importance in Indian heritage and culture. Sloka recitation & Essay Writing competitions were conducted. Students played skits, classical dances & Classical Singing.

Community Devlopment Porgramm:

On 29th July, at the Nagarjuna Community Hall, Tarnaka Department of Sanskrit & Telugu organized a Community Development Programme focusing on the theme “Say No to Plastic”. The students performed a skit in Telugu that conveyed the dangers of plastic pollution, its impact on the health and environment

The Sanskrit department implemented a Community Development Programme on 12 September 2024. To educate the community people & to give awareness about the Govt. Apps. Students performed classical dance, singing and staged a Mahabharata- on the theme “Dharma Sthapana” skit, to raise awareness on women's empowerment, promote the 112 Govt. Emergency App, and inspire community action to protect the girl child. 29 students participated enthusiastically in the programme.

Department of Sanskrit organized literary activity on 3.3.2025 on the topic ‘Ramayana, MahabharathetihasayohSreepatrah’. Students has presented their views in this Debate very enthusiastically on the given topic. Total 45 students participated in this activity. This activity is a valuable assessment tool that evaluates student’s ability to communicate complex ideas and demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of a topic. By presenting their ideas orally, students develop and showcase a range of skills.

Literary Activity:

On 1st August 2025, the Department of Second Language organized a student-led skit titled "Green Initiative - Switch to Eco, Let the Plastic Go" at the Pearl Gallery. The performance aimed to raise awareness about the environmental impact of plastic and encourage the adoption of eco-friendly alternatives.

Department of Sanskrit organized literary activity on 4.3.2025 on the topic ‘General knowledge in Mahabharatha and Bhagavatha story ’. Jayasree 3rdBBA student has conducted QUIZ competition to I B.A & BSC (MSCS,MSDS,CNDBC,MGP). Students were participated very enthusiastically on the given topic. Total 45 students participated in this activity. The QUIZ activity is a valuable assessment tool that evaluates student’s ability to communicate complex ideas and demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of a topic. By presenting their ideas orally, students develop and showcase a range of skills.

Students were participated very enthusiastically on the given topic Total 38 students were participated.TheJAM ( Just A Minute)activity is a valuable assessment tool that evaluates student’s ability to communicate complex ideas and demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of a topic. By presenting their ideas orally, students develop and showcase a range of skills.

The Sanskrit department hosted a guest lecture on September 20^th, 2024, featuring an expert speaker who shared insights and knowledge on Sanskrit language and literature with Mrs Pritha Ghosh from St. Pious X Degree & P.G College for Women.

A workshop on Bhaaratiiya Gnaana Samskruteehe Visistathaa (Specialties of Indian Knowledge in Sanskrit), “ Bhaarateeya Gnaana Samskrutehe Parichayam & Vignaana Saastra Bhaarateeyam”, Vigyana Shastra Bharathiyam, “ Bhaarateeya Nrutya Yaatraayaaha Prabhaavaha” Bhasha Soundaryam - Vikasitha Jeevanam, “Gitanusaaritham Sukhi Jeevitham” was held from December 16, 2024, to December 20, 2024.

Taruni Club Activity

As part of the club activity, the Department of Sanskrit organized a session on 29-07-2024 on the topic Ādhunika Kāle Rāmāyaṇasya Āvaśyakatā Kathā.The activity aimed to build students’ confidence and enhance their knowledge of the Ramayana. Sharvani and Shraavani of I B.Sc BTMC delivered an engaging PowerPoint presentation expressing their views on the relevance of the Ramayana in the modern era. The event was conducted for the I B.Sc students.

To avoid stage fear and to get more knowledge of Ramayana Department of Sanskrit organized activity on 29.7.2024 on the topic “ Aadhunika kale Raamayanasya AavasykataaKathaa”. In this activity Power point presentation given by Sharvani & Shraavani students of I B.Sc BTMC. They presented enthusiastically their views on the given topic. Target audience I B.Sc

Dr. P.
