St. Pious X Degree and PG College for Women celebrated Fresher’s Day and Investiture Ceremony on 15th July, 2017 at its premises at Nacharam, Hyderabad.
Reverend Correspondent - Sr. V. Japamala Showrillu, Principal along with Mrs. Annie Sunil, Head Department of English graced the occasion.
The Student Council was constituted with the formal Investiture ceremony.
In the fresher’s party & Investiture Ceremony, a plethora of cultural events were displayed by the seniors. The new comers thoroughly enjoyed the party.
St. Pius X Feast, Institutional Day was celebrated on 19th and 21st August, 2017. Institution offers tribute to St. Pius X on 21st August every year. On 19th Aug, the program started with narration of significance of Pope Saint Pius X Feast followed by honoring the Patron Saint with floral tribute and lighting of candles by management, students, teaching and non-teaching staff. The programme continued with the presentation of skit titled “Self-Realization and Hard work”, display of short film “Virtue and Vice” and message by the Chief Guest Father John. On 21st Aug, the program commenced with offering of floral tribute, lighting the candles to St. Pius and Chief Guest message. The Other attractions of the program where the depiction of life of Pius, Song by college band, Group dance competition and Prize Distribution. Both days program ended with pleading to the Saint to bestow shower of blessing and distribution of refreshments.
Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at St.Pious College on the occasion of 71st Independence Day on 15th August, 2017.
The Principal welcomed the gathering and Prof. Parthasarathy, the Chief Guest of the occasion hoisted the Flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of freedom. The chief guest delivered a message appealing the women in bringing up the youth for a better Nation Building.
The Department of Computer Science and Sports committee conducted various competitions like Essay Writing, Elocution, Solo Singing and Group Singing on the occasion of Independence Day.
Students actively participated in various cultural programmes like group dance Solo & group singing on few patriotic songs. Further the Chief Guest and other dignitaries on the dais gave away the prizes for the winners of the competitions held on this occasion.
The Programme concluded up with the Vote of thanks by Student Council President Miss. Catherine, III B.A and distribution of sweets.
The Staff and Students of St. Pious celebrated Bathukamma (State Festival of Telangana) on 21st Sept, 2017 to promote unity, love and sisterhood. On this occasion the students actively participated in Rangoli competitions held in Campus.
The students were dressed in different traditions and involved in floral decoration gathering and arranging brightly colored flowers into beautiful color stack. The faculty and students joined hands in celebrations, playing and dancing around the Bathukamma and singing songs of Bathukamma showcasing our Culture and Tradition in Campus.
