As per Government initiative to prohibit “Ragging” in the Educational Institutions of all levels and hostels, the college has constituted the Anti-Ragging Committee[cite: 4, 5]. It has been functioning since 2008-2009 with the primary objective to prohibit ragging in the campus, thus assuring a “Ragging Free Zone”.
The committee aims to prohibit, prevent, and eliminate the scourge of ragging, including any conduct by any student or students—whether by words spoken or written or by an act—which has the effect of teasing or ill-treating freshers or any other student. It is dedicated to stopping undisciplined activities that affect the psychological nature of fellow students (newcomers), preventing physical, mental, and psychological suffering.
As a combat strategy, the institution firmly emphasizes instilling values through education classes and orientation programs at the start of each academic year. Timely counseling sessions by class in-charges and sensitizing role plays by the student council members ensure constant monitoring. This cumulative effort keeps the campus and hostel vicinity a serene place, contributing to the holistic development of all students.
