About
- “Avani” is one of the four Institutional Social Responsibility wings of our Institution established on 10 th November 2023 with an emphasis to promote the environmental consciousness by planning and executing various activities that reinforce the Institution’s commitment towards the sustainable development.
- The Annual plan of the Avani is designed to engage students actively in the eco-friendly initiatives and foster the environmental responsibility.
Objectives
- To promote environment consciousness among youth
- To sensitize people towards Environment protection and Conservation
- To motivate people towards prudent usage of energy and other natural resources.
- To create awareness on 5 Rs of Environment Improvement: “Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle “
- To conduct Workshops on Solid waste management, Energy conservation, Water conservation, Bio diversity conservation, Wildlife protection etc
- To spread awareness on climate change and protection through Campaigns
- To educate people on ban the usage of plastic through hands on training programs on making cloth bags, ecofriendly products such as dustbins, paper bags, etc

4th February 2025 - ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION WORKSHOP
Ms. Padma Juluri, a renowned Faculty at IECA was the guest speaker for the Environment Conservation Workshop was a resounding success. The event, organized for BBA 2nd-year students, aimed to educate and raise awareness about environmental conservation.
10th January 2025 - E-WASTE MANAGEMENT
The Departments of Physics and Mathematics jointly hosted a month-long awareness campaign on e-waste management, collection of e-waste from students, college staff, and the local community. Student volunteers played a vital role in spreading awareness and collecting the e-waste, which was disposed of through Earth sense Recycle Pvt Ltd
28th October 2024 - DIWALI MELA
As part of the Spoorthy Club's initiative to enhance students' entrepreneurship skills, the department organized a workshop focused on diya making, wax candle production, and the sale of various Diwali items.
28th October 2024 - A HANDS ON CLAY EXPERIENCE (DIYA MAKING)
An awareness programme on Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) was conducted for non-teaching staff, led by four students (P. Vaishnavi, M Tanusree, T.Yuvaranjani, P. YTejaswi) from MSc Microbiology II year, Department of Microbiology to educate participants on IBS, its causes, symptoms, and management strategies, while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
15th -22 October,2024 - DAAN UTSAV
Students, faculty and non teaching staff donated different items such as Clothing, bedsheets, utensils, shoes, Bags, Educational Materials and Toys to Goonj. Ms Pranavi of III BtMC, Student coordinator along with 27 student volunteers planned and executed the drive for one week.
12th -13th September 2024 - Paper Recycling Activity
Departments of Zoology & Genetics organized the Paper recycling activity in collaboration with ITC WOW (MoU). Students and Faculty from all Streams BA, B.Com, BSc PG, BBA, MBA actively participated in the activity. Around 2.6 tons of paper was collected and sent for recycling.
18th September 2024 - ECO CLUB ACTIVITIES
An Awareness Lecture on Bio-enzyme production by Mrs Sunandha an organic farming expert and a alumini of our college, spoke on protocol for production of bio enzyme and its applications as plant growth promoter as well as its role in controlling various pests.
20th August, 2024 - AKSHAY URJA DIWAS 2024.
Department of Physics conducted online quiz for students to educate and create awareness on Renewable Sources of Energy on account of Akshay Urja Diwas 2024 Celebrations and also in commemoration of Birth Anniversary of Shree Rajive Gandhi former Prime Minister of India. Nearly 120 students actively participated.
