About

Hindi is a national language of India. Department of Hindi repository of invaluable knowledge of ancient Hindi Literature. The Department through its committed efforts achieved a pass percentage of 99% by conducting Unit Tests, Quarterly Exams and Pre-Final for the students. Students are encouraged to do projects and participate in Inter-collegiate competitions. Department is providing a library of 2000 books. Students are motivated through Camtasia and PowerPoint presentation.

Objectives

Objectives of our Department are as follows:

  • To preserve and promote India’s linguistic interests.
  • To promote Hindi as a global language.
  • To instill human values inherent in its literature.
  • To facilitate in students: a love for reading, assessing the character and the use of language.
  • To develop many essential skills of vocabulary enhancement and sentence structure.
  • To apply the new words learnt in their daily spoken language using Hindi Grammar book.

EVENTS 2023-2024

GREEN INTIATIVE:

  • Department of second Languages organized GREEN INTIATIVE programme. On 31 April 2023. The main objectives of Green initiative is environmental awareness and education, the use of sustainable energy and energy efficient measures, comprehensive recycling and composting and green landscaping in the campus capacity.

Guest Lecture:

  • DOn 29 th Aug. 2023 Dept. of Hindi organised Guest Lecture for all groups of 1 st Year students in the auditorium. Dr. Aparna Chaturvedi, Asst. Prof. Govt. Degree College for Women (Autonomous) Nalgonda, was the resource person. The topic for the lecture was ‘Bharat mein sanskriti sangam’.In her lecture Dr. Aparna explained students about the varied culture of India also its historical and descriptive overview of Indian culture.

Celebrations:

  • St .Pious X Feast was organised by the departments of English and Second Languages on 21 August 2023. Fr. Bala Shoureddy ,Priest ,Arch diocese, Hyderabad was the Chief Guest who highlighted the virtues of St.Pious X . A dance competition was heldon the theme “DANCE FOR LIFE” for all the streams of UG, PG andMBA . The Judges for the Competition were Ms.Ravali , student Alumini Mr.Jinna and Mr.Anand , Choreographers. Department of Second Languages incharge for the Group Dance competition, theme was “ LIFE IS AWESOME – DANCE FOR LIFE”. Total 8 groups with 55 students enthusiastically participated in the group dance compettion.The ROLLING SHIELD was bagged by The Physical Sciences students
  • The Department of Second language celebrated International Mother Language day on 21.2.2024. On this occasion department has conducted Quiz, drawing & Stand up comedy.students participated very enthusiastically. Dr. Sangeeta Vyas, Associate Professor BOS ,Department of Hindi, Osmania University was invited as guest.
  • On 10 th jan. 2024 , we conducted Elocution and eassy competition on account of INTERNATIONAL HINDI DAY.The subjectwas “ vaishvik star par hindi ka mahattva”.the judge ofthis competition was the head of the Sanskrit department Mrs vani gayathri .A total of 70 students attended this programme .Vote of thanks : Bcom final year student MS. WORKSHOP/WEBINAR:

  • On 9 TH June 2023 MS. Manjusha attended National workshop on the topic ‘Srijanatmak lekhan’ organised by Dept. of Hindi, St. Francis College, Bengaluru. DR. Karan singh Utwal was the resource person for this program.
  • On 30.7.2023 Ms. Manjusha Dept. of Hindi attended 89 th National Webinar of the webinar series of Communication Today on the topic ‘Patrkar Premchand’ organized by Lighthouse of media Professionals, Jaipur.

INTERDESIPLINARY ACTIVITY:

  • The Department of Second Language organized “ Versatile Vibhavari” an Inter disciplinary activity for II BSc life Science & Physical science on 10.5.2024. On this department of Sanskrit conducted slogan reading, tongue twist & sametalu- podupukathalu. Department of Sanskrit conducted slogan reading for Hindi students, department of Telugu conducted sametalu & podupukathalu for Sanskrit students and Department of Hindi conducted tongue twist for Telugu students.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME:

  • Department of second Languages organized an orientation programme on “ Science & Beauty of Indian Music “ on 14.9.2023. Recourse person was Dr.MRK Prabhakar ,Retd.Chief Scientist,CSIR,NGRI,Hyderabad.

EXTENSION PROGRAMME:

  • Department of Second Language organized an Extension programme at Sarva Siksha Abhiyan Upper Primery School,Nacharm on 19.1.2024. To encourage & enhance knowledge department has organized “ Fun & Talent ‘ show for 6 th & 7 th class students. From I & III Year students of UG organized this programme.

Clubs
  • On February  28th, 2024, the Hindi Department organised club activity for the students of B.com, BBA as well as BA in Room No. 6. The topic was “KAVI PARICHAY” (the poets about whom the students spoke about are as follows: Kabirdas, Rahim, Bihari, Suryakant Triphati Nirala and Mahadevi Verma).  In this activity, 16 students had taken part. About 50 students had attended the activity. The anchoring of this program was done by Ms. Harshitha of B.com second year.
  • On 25th March, 2023, Department of Hindi organized activities under Pratibha Club for all II yr. students. The theme of this activity was , Vichron ka pitara students express views on how was their journey from school to college and the moments they enjoyed in this period.

  • Prathibha - Club Activity:

    To know more about poet and their service towards Hindi literature, Department of Hindi organized various activities under Pratibha Club.

    • 1 yr - story telling on “Nava ras” on 21 Dec. 2021
    • 2 yr ( B.Com , BBA & BA) - PPT Presentation on Kabirdas, Tulsidas and Meera Bai on 09.12.2021.
    • 2 yr B.Sc - PPT on "Indian culture" and Premchand on 15 Dec. 2021
    • 3 yr - JAM on the topic "Covid mahamari mein pariwarik rishtein aur Paison ka mahatva" on 29 Nov.2021.

  • We celebrate Hindi Divas on 14th September every year. We conduct various competitions such as:
