The Commerce Department is one of the largest departments in the Institution providing quality education since 1993. It offers B.Com (Gen) and B.Com (Comp) with a present intake of 500 plus students. The department is driven by considerations of quality, well qualified and committed faculty and is ever-ready to design innovative instructional methodology. To equip the students with practical and analytical skills, Commerce Lab has been incepted in 2005. The ‘SPOORTHY’ club of the Commerce Department engages the students in various academic and cognitive activities like Seminars, Group Discussions, Debates, Role Play sessions, Case Study Analysis, Quiz, and Skit both at the intra and inter-collegiate level. Students are taken on field trips and industrial tours. Entrepreneurship Awareness and Development programmes are arranged in collaboration with external agencies. Many students are recruited through the campus placements and placed in reputed organizations like DELL, HSBC, Bank of America, WIPRO, Cognizant, Infosys, etc.. The department has the distinction of securing above 90% pass percentage consistently from its inception and is always ranked among the top 10 affiliated colleges of Osmania University.

STORM (Spoorthy Talent Oriented Rocking Meet) is an exciting Commerce Fest organized by the Commerce Department of St. Pious X Degree & PG College for Women, held once every three years. The fest provides students with a vibrant platform to not only showcase their skills in commerce and extracurricular activities but also to develop leadership and organizational abilities. A unique aspect of STORM is that students actively participate in securing sponsorships and arranging funds, giving them hands-on experience in financial management and event planning.
The event features a wide range of online and offline competitions, designed to engage students in activities that align with their experiences and aspirations. STORM allows students to excel in both formal and informal settings, encouraging them to shine in the spotlight while fostering overall character development. This fest is a perfect blend of competition, teamwork, and personal growth, creating a memorable and enriching experience for the entire student community.
