Extension Activities

The department has taken up extension activities in association with Darshika an NGO to empower girl students and train them in self defence and give them emotional training so as to over come the problems women are facing in today’s society.

Faculty and students from B.Sc. Microbiology and Biochemistry visited Rainbow Home, an orphanage for girls at Medibavi, Secunderabad on 1st July 2016 and distributed snacks and played games. The Orphanage provides compassionate care and support to the girls to improve their quality of life.

As an initiative towards Scientific social responsibility , 14 posters on causative agents, prevention and treatment of various food borne , water borne, vector borne and sexually transmitted diseases were prepared by B.SC. and M.SC. students and displayed and explained to 7th , 8th , 9th and 10th class students of O.U. Model School on 20th January, 2017.

The students’ research projects are aimed to improve conceptual understanding and develop scientific aptitude amongst them by providing hands-on learning experience.
