About

It is a Dravidian native language of India. This stands in par with Hindi, English, Bengali which also attained a status with the few other languages .Telugu is a state language of Telangana. Telugu is a primary language spoken in the state of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Objectives

Objectives of our Department are as follows:

  • It inculcates social values and morals in the students
  • It enables the students to develop interest towards this language
  • It spread the greatness of Telugu language, culture, art and tradition as state festivals
  • It is a simple language so that even common people can understand
  • It brought out the beauty in the spoken language

CELEBRATIONS:

  • St.Pious X Feast – INSTITUTION DAY St .Pious X Feast was organised by the departments of English and Second Languages on 21 August 2023. Fr. Bala Shoureddy ,Priest ,Arch diocese, Hyderabad was the Chief Guest who highlighted the virtues of St.Pious X . A dance competition was heldon the theme “DANCE FOR LIFE” for all the streams of UG, PG andMBA . The Judges for the Competition were Ms.Ravali , student Alumini Mr.Jinna and Mr.Anand , Choreographers. Department of Second Languages incharge for the Group Dance competition, theme was “ LIFE IS AWESOME – DANCE FOR LIFE”. Total 8 groups with 55 students enthusiastically participated in the group dance compettion. The ROLLING SHIELD was bagged by The Physical Sciences students
  • INTERDESIPLINARY ACTIVITY The Department of Second Language organized “ Versatile Vibhavari” an Inter disciplinary activity for II BSc life Science & Physical science on 10.5.2024. On this department of Sanskrit conducted slogan reading, tongue twist & sametalu- podupukathalu. Department of Sanskrit conducted slogan reading for Hindi students, department of Telugu conducted sametalu & podupukathalu for Sanskrit students and Department of Hindi conducted tongue twist for Telugu students.
  • The Department of Second language celebrated International Mother Language day on 21.2.2024. On this occasion department has conducted Quiz, drawing & Stand up comedy.students participated very enthusiastically. Dr. Sangeeta Vyas, Associate Professor BOS ,Department of Hindi, Osmania University was invited as guest.

Orientation programme::

  • Department of second Languages organized an orientation programme on “ Science & Beauty of Indian Music “ on 14.9.2023. Recourse person was Dr.MRK Prabhakar ,Retd.Chief Scientist,CSIR,NGRI,Hyderabad.

EXTENSION PROGRAMME:

  • Department of Second Language organized an Extension programme at Sarva Siksha Abhiyan Upper Primery School,Nacharm on 19.1.2024. To encourage & enhance knowledge department has organized “ Fun & Talent ‘ show for 6 th & 7 th class students. From I & III Year students of UG organized this programme

GREEN INTIATIVE:

  • Department of second Languages organized GREEN INTIATIVE programme. On 31 April 2023. The main objectives of Green initiative is environmental awareness and education, the use of sustainable energy and energy efficient measures, comprehensive recycling and composting and green landscaping in the campus capacity.

INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR:

  • Y.Jyothi head department of telugu presented paper at International Seminar organised by Andhra University Trans –Disciplinary resarch Hub in collaboration with Telugumalli (Australia) on the topic “స్త్రీవాద సాహిత్యం -- సామాజిక పరిస్థితులు “ on 2-3-2024.

GUEST LECTURE

  • Department of Telugu organized a Guest Lecture on the topic “ Kavithwa Adyayanam Prayojanalu” on 12.10.2023. Resourse person was Prof.C.Kaseem,,Head dept of Telugu,Osmania University , Hyderabad. The program starts with profile reading by Mrs. Jyothi Head Dept. of Telugu. Pro.Kassem motivated & encourage the students to write poetry.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME:

  • Y.Jyothi Head Department of Telugu attended On week National Level Faculty development Programme on “ Assimilation of Indian Knowledge systems with NEP – 2020 : Prospect and Retrospect’ 30 th july to 4 th August, 2024 ORGANIZED BY DEPARTMENT OF Basic Sciences and Humanities & Internal Quality Assurance Cell , BVRIT Hyderabad Collegeof Engineering for Women.

  • Taruni Club Activity is done. Dept.of Telugu conducted activity the topic we selected is Topic Quiz & Translation .16.2.2024 Taruni club Activity participants are All 1 st year students.Total students there in club activity are 51 members
  • Dept.of Telugu Organised about Character parade on “Ramayan” characters for the students of all groups of 1st year as a part of Taruni Club Activity.Students participated very enthusiastically in this Activity.
  • Dept.of Telugu conducted memory test on 26.11.2021 about Telugu poets & writers For the students of all groups of I year under Club Activity.Students participated very enthusiastically in this Activity. By this activity they Memories the poets with their works .
  • 15.01.2021, On the occasion of Sankranthi Festival Dept. of Telugu organised ‘Taruni’ Club Activity for all groups of I yr. Students. This activity was organised to know the rituals about this festival.

    We celebrate Telangana Bhasha Dhinostavam on Sep 9th every year. We conduct various competitions such as:
